The calm before the cup.
The less said about the Bribie Cup the better. We sailed out of the marina and while still inside the channel markers we hit the sand bottom, I should have turned around right then and put Shazza back on the trailer--- it only got worse!
The race was 5 hours to windward in 10-15 knots. Two-up that made for very very slow sailing with no let up and no one to race with.
The return cruise was 4 hours dead square running. Not pleasant sailing in either direction, but the view on the way home was nice.
Shazza is going to be taking a rest while I fix some damage to the keel box sleeve from the weekend and get serious about setting up the carbon/aluminium rig.
I also plan to take some time off Shazza to get the row/sail boat looking a little better.
